On May 15, WorkSafeBC released an initial set of guidelines to help businesses and organizations included in Phase 2 of BC’s Restart Plan develop their plans to reopen safely in the coming days and weeks. Guidelines have been released for the following sectors relevant to BC’s tourism industry:
Businesses are required to use the WorkSafeBC guidelines and resources to develop their COVID-19 safety plans. Please refer to the WorkSafeBC protocols for returning to operation section below.
Additional resources from go2HR: With input from industry, go2HR has also developed a COVID-19 Tourism and Hospitality Best Practices template. The template is intended as a guide and will be reviewed as new information is made available. Businesses are encouraged to check this page on go2HR’s website for updates.
A note on the hotel sector: While hotels are included in Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan, interim guidance is available for the hotel sector. Operators of hotels, motels, hostels, inns and other forms of travel accommodation are encouraged to refer to this interim guidance document from the Province of BC and BC Centre for Disease Control.
