Power Up! Program is an application-based, digital mentorship program that will provide 75 eligible BC-based, small and medium sized tourism businesses, sole proprietors, and non-profits across the province with free access to digital audit and technical services designed to improve digital marketing activities and use of digital technology.
Businesses can choose one of the following service areas that they deem a priority for their business. The service costs will be directly covered through the program up to a maximum of $5,000 per participant and will include supporting educational resources for further learning and ongoing implementation in the future.
A consultant will review existing digital channels, analytics and strategies, and work directly with the program participant to develop a set of digital marketing goals and tactics to achieve them. Access to website, ad and email platforms, and social analytics (if available) will be required. Participants will leave with a high-level marketing plan and a priority list of tactics to action.
A consultant will perform a technical and content audit of the business website then work directly with the program participant to develop a set of SEO goals and tactics to achieve them. Participants will leave with high-level SEO knowledge, a clean up of website technical and content SEO issues, and a priority list of tactics to action.
This service involves using a variety of testing tools to understand potential User Experience and technical issues that could be impeding website performance and outlining recommendations for ways to fix and improve issues. Participants will leave with a strategy prioritizing the most pressing concerns and those easiest to address, however it is up to the participant to implement the strategy, both financially and logistically.
This service is suited to participants who do not currently have an email platform in place or have one in place that is not currently in use. Services would include providing recommendations on what email platform to choose*, working with the participant to set the platform up, an email sign-up welcome drip campaign, and recommendations for lead generation tactics and monthly newsletters.
*Subscription costs for the email platform would be incurred by the participant
This service is ideal for participants who want to augment their social strategy and use it to drive more awareness of their operation and more engaged traffic to their business website. The services would include audit of existing channel activities and analytics, industry benchmarking of current social engagement and reach, trend and search data research, and a social media strategy including content, post frequency, tone of voice and channel tactics.
This service is ideal for participants who want to test digital advertising or augment their current digital advertising spend. Funds for this service can include training and support with the set-up, monitoring and reporting of digital ads (a mix of social, search, display and video as made possible by existing advertising assets and access to budget). Working media funds must come from the participant’s own budget.
