Driven by Destination BC’s Corporate Strategy, the People and Development team aligns human resource management with corporate goals to ensure we have the people, the capabilities and the culture to continue to collaborate, innovate, harness insights, be courageous and achieve winning results.
Reporting directly to the Manager, People and Development, the Coordinator, People and Development provides general human resource services to support Destination BC’s operations. This position takes a lead role in coordinating recruitment, employee engagement activities, learning and development initiatives, and organization-wide performance reviews. The Coordinator supports ongoing People and Development projects and plays a key role in planning corporate meetings and special events.
This Coordinator provides technical and systems assistance, produces ad-hoc reports, and makes recommendations for ongoing improvements and updates to Destination BC’s People and Development policies, procedures and programs. Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data and human resource files, this position requires a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.
As a central point of contact for employees, prospective recruits and the BC Public Service Agency, this position requires excellent relationship management skills and a strong understanding of human resource management within a unionized environment and related collective agreements.
