PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Graphic Designer works as part of a service-oriented Studio team to coordinate the design, management and production of a wide variety of consumer and corporate materials. They have a strong background in, and passion for, graphic design across a variety of online and offline formats, and maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in design, with particular focus on digital content targeted to potential visitors and industry (tourism industry, media, government stakeholders, and the general public).
As our graphic design lead, this position will prepare and coordinate in-house graphic designs for digital advertising, events displays, presentations, reports and publications, training materials, etc., including final files for production. The Graphic Designer will understand that a brand isn’t just a logo, and play a key role in ensuring alignment to Destination BC’s consumer and industry brands. They will have experience producing and maintaining graphic standards documents, and creating tools that empower others to design to the same high standards.
Our Global Marketing division moves quickly, and the Graphic Designer should thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will often be involved in shaping the visual outputs for a variety of projects at once, from social media content to advertising, for major marketing campaigns to presentations for the executive team, and they are able to juggle these projects and deadlines with ease. A natural collaborator, they liaise directly with teams across the organization, including corporate communications and senior leadership. They are able to guide internal and external clients through the design process from start to finish, including assessment of clients’ needs, coordination of project timelines and content requirements, design presentation, continued liaison with clients throughout approval stages, and delivery of distribution-ready production files.
