We currently prioritize these formats when we’re curating our social media content and are seeing better results in terms of engagement, reach, and shares. When we look back at our best-performing social media content, the 70% of the top-performing content was in square or full-screen (vertical) formats.

This makes sense when you understand where your visitors are consuming the content. It also makes sense when you see how content in the landscape format appears on a phone.
While landscape content still serves a purpose (i.e. YouTube videos), we have learned that square and vertical content is making the biggest impact across Facebook and Instagram. It’s for this reason that we prioritize these formats and encourage you to do the same for best social media results.
