Grow with Google helps small and medium sized businesses grow and succeed online. As a Google High Impact Partner, Destination BC and regional partners have delivered more than 20 workshops across the province this year, with more scheduled for fall and winter. Here's what one workshop participant recently told us: "My guess is the ROI on time spent attending is worth the vision and clearer path a business will choose for their online activities". The new look of Destination BC's flagship store on Ctrip, China's leading online travel agency, was unveiled on August 6, 2019, kicking off Destination BC's marketing efforts for the upcoming seasons. The update features several new sections—flight tickets, hotels, and travel blogs—to inspire consumers to visit BC. Aligned with Destination BC’s strategy, the campaign activities focus on promoting awareness of shoulder-season tourism products and experiences, and lesser known tours, to encourage geographic and seasonal dispersion in BC. |

SkiMax Holidays recently hosted 35 Sydney-based travel agents to the ultimate apres-ski session to announce its 2020 Skimax Canada Snow Travel FAM. Attendees dusted off their ski legs on state-of-the-art indoor ski simulators followed by presentations from Destination BC, Destination Canada and Air Canada, to drive snow travel to BC and Canada. The 2020 FAM will include a trip to Panorama Mountain Resort in BC. |

Year-to-date international visitor arrivals to BC up 2.6% from 2018 |
Due to declines in arrivals from China and overnight arrivals from the US, international arrivals dipped slightly, 1.2% in June 2019 compared to June 2018. Year-to-date arrivals to the province are up 2.6%, led by India (up 16.4%), Japan (up 9.2%), and Germany (up 8.3%). |
