As part of Destination BC’s commitment to becoming a more inclusive organisation and brand, we are changing how our visual assets (including those you are featured in) are labeled and searched for in our digital asset management (DAM) system, which is used by tourism partners across the province and around the world. We want to ensure our brand, content, and advertising is inclusive of those from underrepresented equity-deserving groups.
It’s important to us to do this in a way that accurately and authentically represents you, so we are inviting you to decide how the photo(s) and video(s) of you will be described.
Your feedback will help us to more accurately reflect and celebrate the diversity of BC’s peoples and cultures through our visual assets, and ensure that the way our province is represented is more inclusive and representative of you, and perhaps even your family, your friends, and your community.
Participation is entirely optional. If you choose not to participate, we will ensure that the labels used in our DAM system do not make assumptions about your identity.
Your name, email address and any additional personal information you provide in the fields above are collected under section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purposes of improving the label and search functionality of the DAM system. By filling out the fields above, you agree as of today’s date that this information will be associated with visual assets that you are featured in and as such may be disclosed to and used by other tourism organizations and businesses performing searches in the DAM system. If you have any questions about the collection of this information, please contact: Privacy Officer, Destination British Columbia, [email protected].
