New Destination BC Marketing Campaign Encourages British Columbians to Rediscover and Explore BC, Safely

Destination BC has launched a new chapter of the successful Explore BC campaign: an extensive $8 million domestic marketing initiative encouraging BC residents to travel safely throughout the province this summer and fall.

Introducing six new BC experience collections
The campaign is designed to rekindle British Columbians’ curiosity and passion for their home province, while promoting mindful travel practices. It will also reignite revenue for BC's tourism industry by promoting regional tourism businesses and destinations.
By visiting exploreBC.com, residents can find trip planning ideas and resources to support their rediscovery of our enchanting province, guided by six new experience collections:
  • West Coast Culture
  • Mountain Peaks & Towns
  • Northern Wild
  • Vineyards, Valleys & Lakes
  • Rivers, Ranches & Ranges
  • Vancouver & Sea-to-Sky
Your Wild is Calling video

The multi-phased campaign kicked off with a series of inspirational videos that also share safe and responsible travel information. In the coming weeks, these new experience collections will be brought to life through captivating videos, itinerary ideas and bookable products. Watch the hero video “Your Wild is Calling” on YouTube, and keep your eye out for our Know Before You Go travel information ads highlighting top tips for safe travel.

The first two of six sponsored content pieces have launched this week, each spotlighting a unique BC experience accompanied by one page of partner ads in the Vancouver Sun and 18 community papers.

Over the next week, we will launch our videos on connected TV, publish more sponsored content through print and web, and commence a broadcast partnership with Global TV that includes brand spot ads, as well as news and weather integrations.

As we continue to collaborate with our network of BC marketing partners to amplify Explore BC messaging, we hope you will also share this content to support fellow tourism businesses. When appropriate, we will extend the campaign into Alberta and other parts of Canada. By encouraging as many British Columbians as possible to #exploreBC safely and thoughtfully, we can help our industry emerge stronger than ever before.
