  • Work with Us: Creative Services

Let’s Work Together

“Tourism is one of the most diverse industries in the world, and changing systemic inequalities will take all of us working together – our employees, suppliers, partners, tourism communities, and the tourism industry as a whole.” (Richard Porges, President & CEO, Destination BC)

Destination BC wants  to partner with Qualified Suppliers for Creative Services (Photography, Videography, Design and Writing) to meaningfully share authentic stories of BC with the world. If you’re interested in working with us in any of these areas, please apply to be included on a prequalified list of suppliers (also known as a Request for Qualifications list, or RFQ list) for Creative Services projects.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

We’re looking to remove visible and invisible barriers for applicants, starting by providing an easy-to-understand format for the RFQ application on this website. We have developed a list of FAQs to answer any questions you may have.

We actively encourage people who identify as women, Indigenous, Black and People of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, and disabled people/people with disabilities to work with us as content creators, and to self-identify during the application process if they so choose. Authentic inclusion happens when we meaningfully and actively engage individuals with lived experience from equity-deserving communities. All successful applicants will be added to the Main List of prequalified suppliers. Destination BC will use this information to select Qualified Suppliers to perform work needed on an as, if, and when requested basis and in accordance with Section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. In addition, if a Qualified Supplier voluntarily provided their identity information as part of their application, when Destination BC identifies a project that aligns with an equity-deserving community, we will select Qualified Suppliers from that Specialized List. Applicants will be provided with the opportunity to self-identify during the application process if they so choose. Destination BC will only use this information to better understand an opportunity to work with a supplier on a specific project. Providing the information is voluntary and is not part of the application evaluation. Applicants may provide information to us at a later time, should they choose to do so. Choosing to not self-identify will not impact the evaluation of the application. Qualified Suppliers are selected solely on the responses to the evaluated questions, which are outlined in the application form. The evaluated questions focus on the applicant’s experience in the various Creative Services areas.

Application Information and FAQ

FAQ

Please see our FAQ section here.

Timeline

You can apply at any time over the length of the RFQ. The RFQ Termination Date is provided in each Terms and Conditions. There is an Initial Intake Closing Date and Time for applications, after which we will review all applications received by that date and time. After that, we will review applications a minimum of twice per year, approximately every 6 months until the end of the RFQ term.

The RFQs for Videography, Creative Writing and Design Services will be launched at later dates. Please check back to see when they are available.

Terms and Conditions

Before submitting an application, you will be asked to read and accept the Terms and Conditions of the RFQ. The Terms and Conditions document provides information about the business opportunity, the terms and conditions of Destination BC’s use of the list, and other important details such as definitions and timelines. You must accept the Terms and Conditions to access the application form. Access the Terms and Conditions for each Service Area by clicking on the tiles above.

Format of Application

To complete the online application, you will be asked to answer a series of questions, including open text fields or submitting a URL to a portfolio where we can see your work. If you can’t complete the online application form, you can submit your application using the fillable PDF document located in each service area Terms and Conditions. The PDF can be sent by email to the address provided in the application form, or by mailing a hard copy of an application to the Destination BC office. If you require accessibility accommodations at any point throughout this process, please contact us at [email protected] and our Procurement team will respond to your question.

Application Process

Our approach to collaboration with vendors and suppliers follows Destination BC’s commitment to inclusion and BC government policy. We use a structured approach that acknowledges and manages bias, and is designed to create equitable opportunity when evaluating applications.
