The “Gotta Go” project highlights the power of partnership in improving traveller experiences along the historic Alaska Highway in Northern BC.
In this video, April Moi, Destination Development Manager, Northern BC Tourism Association, and Krista Vandersteen, Regional Development Officer, Northern Rockies Regional Municipality, share how upgraded rest stops, including interpretive signage, washroom facilities, lighting, and safety features, are enhancing the journey for both visitors and residents. These improvements help tell the cultural and natural stories of the region while offering greater comfort and safety for highway travellers. Through collaboration with First Nations and all levels of government, this initiative supports tourism growth and strengthens community well-being. It’s a story of infrastructure that connects people to place and contributes to sustainable economic development.
