As British Columbia prepares to take the global stage for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, tourism partners across the province are encouraged to get their game face on with the new BC Tourism FC Playbook, a foundational guide designed to help BC’s tourism industry capitalize on this once-in-a-generation opportunity.
A Province-Wide Game Plan
Developed by the BC Tourism FC in collaboration with industry partners, the playbook provides coordinated, province-wide guidance and information to ensure that partners across the province can contribute meaningfully and authentically to BC’s World Cup efforts.
Inside the Playbook
This first edition of the Playbook features:
Team BC
Vancouver is one of only two Canadian cities hosting FIFA World Cup matches, welcoming international fans and connecting with a global broadcast audience of more than five billion. But the benefits extend far beyond the pitch. With an estimated $1 billion in additional tourism revenue, and over one million additional visitors projected between 2026–2030, the World Cup represents a chance to amplify BC’s global profile, drive economic growth, and support community-level participation across the province.
The Playbook underscores that tourism partners, across BC, can engage with this global event. It encourages tourism teams to tap into their local character, be creative in aligning with tournament moments, and build stories that connect authentically with visitors from around the world.
Additional chapters and materials will be released as more tournament details become available, ensuring BC’s tourism sector remains prepared, agile, and united.
