Destination BC Launches Automated Travel Deals Program

In support of Destination British Columbia’s recovery marketing efforts, Destination BC is launching a new, automated travel deals program on HelloBC.com. This automated approach, managed through our Tourism Business Portal at DestinationBC.net, will allow us to surface relevant deals in the right place at the right time across HelloBC.com.

With COVID-19, the BC traveller is looking for value and travel deals play an important role in motivating travellers considering a BC trip to make a travel booking. For tourism businesses, travel deals present an opportunity to encourage visitation in the slower periods, sell excess inventory, feature new products or experiences, drive website traffic, acquire new customers, and raise traveller awareness. These deals represent a key opportunity to generate referrals to your business from HelloBC.com and through Destination BC marketing activities.

Destination BC features relevant travel deals through several channels, including:

  • HelloBC.com Travel Deals page, and on related content pages (e.g. a ski deals for winter activity pages)
  • Email newsletters
  • Paid media campaigns, generating millions of impressions on platforms such as Facebook, Google, and Instagram.

In order to support the objectives above, Destination BC has created guidelines for travel deal consideration. All approved deals will be displayed on HelloBC.com, and reasonable efforts will be made to feature as many relevant deals as possible through other media channels.

BC tourism businesses who have a HelloBC business listing are encouraged to take advantage of this key opportunity to entice visitors and generate business referrals via Travels Deals. BC tourism businesses who haven’t yet registered with HelloBC can find out just how easy it is, here.
