At its April meeting, the Sea to Sky Destination Management Council received an update on the Don’t Love it to Death initiative. The Council was briefed on efforts to secure an official mark for the campaign and seek sponsorship opportunities to support its long-term sustainability.
The upcoming 2025–26 campaign is backed by marketing partners from across the Sea to Sky Corridor, as well as Delta, Surrey, Hope, and the Sunshine Coast. The Council also celebrated the campaign’s recent recognition with a Sustainability Excellence Award at the BC Tourism Industry Awards.
Planned collaborations with community partners, local media, and the BC Wildfire Service are underway to amplify the campaign’s core messages around responsible recreation.
In addition, the Council welcomed news of a new beginner-friendly adaptive mountain biking trail at Alice Lake Park in Squamish, along with ongoing improvements to trails and recreation amenities in Whistler.
The Council will reconvene in September 2025.
