British Columbians and visitors can now access road conditions and travel advisories through a more accessible, user-friendly DriveBC platform. The updated platform introduces a simplified interactive map and intuitive design that enhances the user experience on both desktop and mobile devices. Replacing the previous mobile text layout, the new map offers a visual-first approach that makes it easier to explore highway conditions and stay informed.
Enhanced features support safer and more efficient travel planning. Users can now:
Save favourite routes and receive customized notifications;
Quickly check real-time highway camera feeds through an upgraded layout;
Access integrated updates on road closures, weather advisories, border crossings, inland ferries, and commercial vehicle chain-up areas.
Designed with input from the public, commercial drivers, and key transportation stakeholders, the new DriveBC platform reflects ongoing efforts to improve access to accurate, real-time travel information. Feedback mechanisms are built into the new site to support continuous improvement.
To ease the transition, DriveBC’s legacy site will remain available for a limited time: https://legacy.drivebc.ca
