The Government of Canada and the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) announced and celebrated a number of projects receiving non-refundable funding support through the Indigenous Tourism Fund’s Signature Indigenous Tourism Experiences Stream.
A total of $2.7M in non-repayable funding has been awarded to 3 Indigenous tourism businesses in BC:
Together with the seven other projects across Canada receiving funding as part of this announcement, these projects are expected to attract a total of 187,000 additional tourists to Indigenous tourism businesses, boosting revenue streams and creating approximately 200 new jobs for Indigenous Peoples.
This initiative is also a part of the Federal Tourism Growth Strategy, which aims to realize the full potential of Canadian tourism and confirm Canada’s place as a top global destination.
