The Market Development team has been busy introducing key travel trade and media clients to The Great Wilderness, hosting two group familiarization trips (FAMs) in July in partnership with Northern BC Tourism. The travel trade trip focused on BC-based receptive tour operators (RTOs) who sell tourism products to tour operators globally. Outlets represented on the media trip included Northwest Travel & Life Magazine, Yahoo Life and Modern Traveller.
Both trips showcased the Peace Region of The Great Wilderness. Highlights included visiting Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, Tse’K’wa National Historic Site, Kinuseo Falls at Monkman Provincial Park and the Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark. By experiencing the destination firsthand, receptive tour operators can explore new travel trade-ready products to add to their itineraries, and media leave with story ideas to inspire their readers.
This FAM has already resulted in a story published in the Canadian outlet Modern Traveller: https://www.moderntraveller.ca/home/dinosaur-trackways-and-other-reasons-to-love-tumbler-ridge-british-columbia
