Destination BC has launched the Share Your Love for BC Contest, an engagement and advocacy initiative for British Columbia residents to re-ignite their pride of place, share their love for their province, and keep the magic of BC top of mind.

From the ability to access awe inspiring nature at our doorstep, to experiencing diverse cultures, our award-winning culinary scene, and the sense of calm that comes from the sound of a crashing coastal wave, there are countless reasons – big and small – why British Columbians feel grateful to call this province home. From now until March 26, BC residents (ages 19+) are invited to share their own reasons why they love BC or their community, by submitting a photo and brief story on ShareYourLoveforBC.com, for their chance to win one of ten prizes.

Ten residents will each win $500 in gift cards or vouchers to spend at up to three local businesses, within their own community, to further support Destination BC’s Stay Local, Support Local initiative. Winners will be selected by random draw at the end of the contest period and announced on social media. Throughout the contest, Destination BC will also share some of the submissions on its social media channels.

To enter the contest, or for more information including contest rules & regulations, please visit ShareYourLoveforBC.com.

Since November 7, Destination BC has paused all marketing promoting travel in BC, to help support the Provincial Health Officer’s recommendation against all non-essential travel into, out of, and around the province, until further notice. During that time, efforts have shifted to encouraging BC residents to follow the current guidelines, stay in their own communities, and support local businesses.

Hon. Melanie Mark, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport

“From the drive to the Lava Beds in the Nass Valley for Hobiyee or fishing in Haida Gwaii, I love going home to some of the most pristine places in B.C. I can’t wait to see all the amazing pictures everyone from around the province shares for the Share Your Love for BC contest. It is my hope as Minister that these images will inspire us to make plans for when it’s safe to explore BC again.”

Maya Lange, VP of Global Marketing, Destination BC

“Having lived in many places across multiple continents, I can truly say that the unique magic of British Columbia is unparalleled, and I am so grateful to call BC home. Whether enjoying world class cuisine in our cities, skiing epic peaks, exploring our coastlines or camping in nature, we have so many things that make our province so special. While travel may be on pause, it’s the perfect time to enjoy our own communities – to support the local businesses that make up the fabric of our province, and to take a moment to appreciate everything we have right here in our backyard.”
