The current pace of change and digital disruption in the tourism industry requires that businesses stay up-to-date on visitor motivations, experience development, marketing best practices, social media platforms, and digital readiness to build a competitive advantage for the province in the global tourism landscape.

Industry Development provides learning programs and resources that support BC’s small and medium sized tourism businesses, and other organizations in their efforts to deliver outstanding guest experiences, effective marketing, and tangible business results.

Industry Development is responsible for the Learning Centre, which provides access to resources and tools, best practices, workshops, training programs, and insights for BC’s tourism industry.

In addition, Industry Development manages outreach to the tourism industry to actively engage them in Destination BC’s Marketing and Industry Development programs, including business listings on HelloBC.com and Product Presentations. Please note – as of March 2020, Product Presentations are on hold.

Visit the Learning Centre to explore subject matters from experience development to digital marketing. Inquiries and suggestions for new learning resources can be directed to IndustryDevelopment@DestinationBC.ca.
